A few years back, I stumbled upon a treasure: a cassette recording of Weapon live! This was during our electrifying stint opening for Motörhead on their epic 1980 ‘Ace Up Your Sleeve’ Tour. Picture this: a raw, unfiltered recording straight off the mixing desk, capturing Weapon at the very dawn of our journey. We sound like a fierce punk band, and it’s glorious!
With my talented buddy Robert Majd by my side, we breathed new life into it, getting it digitised and expertly mastered. Robert even crafted the artwork and layout, initially set for release by a company in Belgium, but they completely dropped the ball on us. A real shame, but that’s the way it goes sometimes!
But here’s the exhilarating news: I’ve recently teamed up with Obscure Nwobhm Releases (ONR), and we’ve struck a deal to finally release it!
Get ready for ‘No Peace ‘till Hammersmith’, the official bootleg, set to drop around late January or early February. This release will perfectly coincide with the 45th anniversary of our band’s formation—what a wild ride, especially considering we took a 25-year sabbatical! Stay tuned for more details coming your way soon!
