Biography – Håkan Granat

Håkan ‘The Hawk’ Granat
Guitar/vocals
Hometown – Stockholm, Sweden

After buying his first album “The Sweet Golden Greats ” aged 9, Hawk began playing the drums. However it didn’t take long until he realised that the guitar was the instrument for him. He spent his early years copying the playing styles of Andy Scott, Gary Moore, Brian Robertson and Richie Blackmore.

During the 80’s he was in several bands playing music from classic rock to instrumental jazz rock. He was always eager to explore a wide range of musical styles and artists like Judas Priest, Rush, Thin Lizzy, Pat Travers, Frank Marino, Allan Holdsworth, to name but just a few! He has released a number of albums with his bands Mercury Fang and Misth and recorded the song ”Identity crisis” for the album “The Sweet according to Sweden”, a tribute to his childhood idols..

In 2021 The Hawk met Danny Hynes through their mutual friend Robert Majd (Metalite, Captain Black Beard, Nighthawk) and ended up playing on Danny’ s solo album ”Fancy That” which led to Hawk being invited to play with Danny’s legendary NWOBHM band Weapon at “Winterstorm” in Troon, Scotland in 2021.

He has since been the bands live guitar player, along with playing in the progressive rock band Misth and Swedish Thin Lizzy tribute band Philomania.
