I received this CD yesterday from one of my good friends, Danny Hynes, the legendary frontman from the iconic NWOHM band Weapon, known for their classic album “No Peace to Hammersmith.” This particular CD is a captivating live album recorded during the time when Weapon was supporting the legendary band Motörhead in 1980. The sound quality is incredibly impressive, especially considering it was recorded in the 80s; it was captured directly from the mixer, subsequently cleaned and enhanced to deliver a fantastic listening experience. This concert, which has remained on cassette tape for over 40 years, is only now seeing the light of day on this polished CD format, much to the delight of fans. A heartfelt big thank you goes out to Danny Hynes for keeping this gem alive and to my good friend Michael Henrik Damkvist for gifting me this remarkable piece of music history. It’s truly a treasure to hear the raw energy and spirit of live performances from that vibrant era, and it transports me back to a time when the world of rock was thriving with pure passion and creativity.
